COMMUNITY LARDER & FRIDGE

Eyemouth Larder opened in Eyemouth Parish Church Hall in March 2021. The Larder is a non-profit group dedicated to reducing food waste. The Larder is there for everyone in our community; redistributing surplus food from Fareshare, Eyemouth Coop, Lidl Berwick, M&S Berwick & Asda Berwick.

Everyone is  welcome to come along with a bag and choose up to 10 items for a donation of £1+.

Open four days per week, the larder also provides support to those experiencing food and fuel insecurities along with tackling food waste. With over 80 - 120 visitors weekly, our 12 dedicated volunteers manage food pickups, deliveries, and day-to-day operations.

The Larder has made a tangible impact on reducing food waste by rescuing surplus food from local suppliers and redistributing.

The service supported 2268 visitors in 2024, offering them access to nutritious food. TEN TONNES of food waste has been saved this year. Our volunteers work tirelessly to keep the service running, collecting food, maintaining the space, and providing a welcoming environment.
