Pride of Eyemouth
The Pride of Eyemouth is awarded annually to an individual, group or organisation who have made a difference to our local community. Nominations are received from members of the community and then voted on by the residents of Eyemouth as a whole.
Past winners – include
2021 - Saltgreens and SB Cares – For all of the hard-working dedicated carers of Saltgreens and homecare teams working for SB Cares for the difficulties they continued to work through this year, not only through out a pandemic but now contending with the staff shortages affecting health and social care settings. The staff have worked tirelessly, dedicated themselves to service users, often working 15-hour shifts, extra shifts and double shifts, not having their days off to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered. These carers are absolute angels with hearts of gold. They deserve recognition for their love and kindness.
2020 - Thomas Speirs - For lifting the town’s spirits during Covid lockdown by painting and delivering his rainbow of hope rocks.
2019 - Lib and Jim Windram - For their work to improve this community and have passed this ethic on to many others. They are on hand to help anyone in need and are a mine of information about Eyemouth. They are always willing to pass on their expertise and skills when needed. They have the town’s best interests at heart and always will have.
2018 - Arianna McCulloch – For helping Action Medical Research in numerous ways, helping at coffee mornings, baking and selling her cakes to raise funds. She has developed into an exceptional young adult, helping and caring for people, always giving one hundred per cent to the community and beyond.
